The necessary theater comes to life in our vineyards
The slow culture of wine meets theater in our cellar. Since 1999, Jerzu Antichi Poderi has hosted the Tacchi Festival in the wild and restless nature of the centenary vineyards.
Curated by Cada Die Teatro under the direction of Giancarlo Biffi, the event celebrates theater more as a dimension of life than as a performance. The protagonists of the festival are not only the artists, but everything that dances and pulsates around the theater and the territory that hosts it: people, spaces, landscapes, nature.
“A festival for those who dare to operate in environments that are still little frequented, to try to play with time and individual paths, in order to allow the theater to meet and direct its action towards an increasingly active audience” explains Giancarlo Biffi .
“Being seduced by art in order to then be able to seduce life, in order not to remain clinging to what is loss, of ourselves and of the attention towards those around us. Melting to find ourselves. A theater festival in unique places, for moments that they suggest to us that theater is not only appropriate but perhaps still necessary”.
Patience and tranquility in restless nature
The Festival dei Tacchi, continues Biffi, is a theater festival which, extending in time and space, stubbornly tries to operate in the intimacy of the soul, inhabiting landscapes and environments which, in addition to making us reflect on our lives, transmit patience and tranquility . “One could think of these places as a large park for the individual. Where nature, art and community, creating a beneficial mixture, give the possibility of consolidating a unique avant-garde purpose: the meeting between art and landscape, with the active complicity of the local population, who has preserved this immense natural, cultural, social and human heritage over time. A permanent laboratory of art and culture, in constant dialectic between avant-garde and tradition, landscape and community. An artistic construction site where one goes to build, taking inspiration from everything that moves around. A way to be together and experience new dimensions, to try to distance the brain from elementary worries. A place where desires, reflections and emotions become the main elements for a few days of a human necessity that has always run with the time of living”.
